Project GreenHands was Sadhguru’s response to the huge deforestation occurring in his home state of Tamil Nadu, where desertification threatens millions of rural people with famine. He saw that nurturing two saplings over the next 10 years was a task that even the poorest of the poor could do and that the rich and the resourceful had the ability to do much more. He engineered PGH so that every single person’s simple involvement and personal action could make something truly beautiful, wonderful and timely happen, without placing any additional financial burden upon the state.
