Trees for LIFE
Trees for Life are a variety of indigenous species grown for agro-forestry as part of a campaign designed to bring tree based agriculture back to the heart of Indian farming. With them comes biodiversity, fertile soils, cooler, cleaner air and moisture. These trees are grown specifically to rehabilitate barren farm land, combat drought and reduce flood based soil erosion. They also provide cattle fodder, fencing, leaf based fertilizers and green mulch, shade, fruit, medicine, seed oils, timber and fire wood. Their yields reduce financial outgoings while ultimately increasing the hope of future income through small scale forest enterprises.
