2009
In the Pudukottai plantation zone, as part of community development and to mobilise volunteers for tree plantation the following programs were conducted.
- 300 people have benefited through the Rural Inner Engineering programs.
- Volley ball tournament was conducted on 23rd and 24th May 2009. Mr.Seenivasan, Project officer of Pudukkottai district was the chief guest. 11 adult teams participated in the tournament. Special games for children were also conducted and 120 children participated in the games.

In Pondicherry, the participation was extraordinary and has immediately indicated the receptiveness of the local people. In Tirunelveli and Trichy districts, in the beginning it was difficult to mobilize the village women to come and participate in the community induction games but after showing real life examples the women started participating in the games every day. With the improvement seen in the participation from the launch of the project to date, it gives us confidence that this has really brought the community together.
The Isha team has also organized Inter-Village Tournaments to inspire villagers and instill a sense of community bonding among them. The Inter-Village tournaments keep the community games alive. Both men and women participated in the tournaments including many women who had never played since their childhood.
