Sapling Distribution

Once the young saplings are ready for planting the PGH Team distributes them to those people and organisations, within the need-identified zones, who have expressed a desire and commitment to be involved in the Project. Free sapling distribution is a critical element in the PGH awareness campaign as it provides the prefect opportunity to let people know about the larger aims of the project and to encourage them to get involved.

Free saplings are distributed in special public meetings (often attended by local dignitaries and celebrities) where the Project is promoted and celebrated. Each person and organisation is issued with a PGH Registration number which facilitates subsequent monitoring and evaluation. The hope, however, in each case, is that enough people will become excited about the Project that they will support the development of a full Plantation Zone in their own area.
